FAQ’s

We specialize in Math, Science, and English for K–12 students. We also offer advanced coaching for AP Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to help high school students excel in their coursework and earn college credit. We also offer classes in History and Spanish, but we have limited availability for these subjects.

Our tutoring rates vary depending on the subject, class length, and format. We offer flexible monthly packages for both group and one-on-one sessions. Discounts are also available for families who book multiple hours each month. For detailed pricing and the best option for your needs, please get in touch with us.

For most of our families, tutors meet students at their homes. We also routinely hold classes in local libraries and coffee shops throughout the Fremont, Newark, and Union City areas. We can accommodate different locations within our service area depending on our families’ requests and preferences.

Yes, we do. This applies to both one-on-one in-home classes and group classes held at a local library. The paid assessment allows our tutor to review all relevant school materials, including quizzes, homework, and tests. Our tutor will also speak with the parents and share their understanding of the student’s current proficiency level. We will offer recommendations on which subjects to focus on and discuss expectations for the classes.

We typically see measurable improvement in Math after 8–12 hours of classes, and in English after 12–16 hours of classes. This may vary depending on the student’s specific situation and the consistency of sessions.

There are two types of group classes that we offer. We hold one-hour classes at public libraries in reservable private rooms or study rooms. Our tutor will work with 2–3 students during these classes. The second type of group class takes place in the in-home setting, where we often work with siblings. For both types of group classes, students are not required to study the same subject. For example, our tutor may help one student with biology homework while assisting another with an Algebra II test.

We pair students with tutors based on their specific academic needs and our tutors’ backgrounds. Some tutors have more experience with elementary school students, while others specialize in teaching advanced high school subjects. A family’s availability is also checked against our tutors’ schedules. All of these factors are taken into consideration when recommending a tutor for the first class.

Families are not required to continue with their first assigned tutor and may try another one of our tutors. Our educational director will collect feedback from both the family and the tutor. A primary tutor will only be assigned once the family is confident that the tutor is the best fit for their child.

We require 24 hours’ notice for any class cancellations or rescheduling. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, we can only offer an online class as an alternative.

Yes, we have worked with many students from diverse neurodivergent backgrounds, including those with ADHD and ASD. We will recommend tutors who have prior experience working with special needs students. However, we have also been successful—especially in Math—in having other tutors support special needs students in one-on-one, in-home classes.
